Chelsea are being encouraged to make a move for Crystal Palace talisman Wilfried Zaha.
The Blues are in urgent need of more firepower after allowing £90m Romelu Lukaku to return to Inter on loan.
Zaha is in the final year of his Palace contract and there is no sign of him putting pen to paper on a new deal.
Sources close to the Ivory Coast international, who turns 30 in November, have hinted to Chelsea that he would be keen on making the switch across London.
Zaha has played more than 350 league games in two spells at Palace, but knows this is likely to be his last opportunity to join an elite club after his ill-fated stint at Manchester United.
No Col for Brighton
Brighton decided against signing Levi Colwill permanently after Chelsea insisted on inserting a buy-back option in the deal.
The Seagulls were willing to pay up to £25m for Colwill, 19, but did not want to risk turning him into a Premier League star and then being forced to sell him back to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea believe Colwill, who was wanted by up to half a dozen clubs, has what it takes to be a future first-team regular for them, hence their reluctance to sell without the £40m buy-back.
Everton’s Coad breaker
Everton are pushing hard to sign Conor Coady, with Wolves reluctantly set to allow their captain to leave.
Wolves fans have reacted in uproar at suggestions Coady, 29, is on his way out of the club after seven years loyal service.
But after losing his place in the team, the Molineux hierarchy are sympathetic to Coady’s desire to play regular Premier League football to help secure his place in England’s World Cup squad.
talkSPORT understands West Ham have been sounded out as a potential destination for Coady but Everton manager Frank Lampard is keenest to snap him up.
Lampard believes Coady’s character and mentality would provide a major lift to the Goodison Park dressing room.
Bye bye Bailly
Eric Bailly is set to become the second Manchester United defender of the summer to quit Old Trafford for Sevilla.
Bailly has been told he can leave United as new manager Erik ten Hag looks to reduce the size of his squad.
The centre-back has been offered the chance to join United teammate Alex Telles in Andalusia.
talkSPORT believes Bailly, whose United career has been ravaged by injury, is open to making the move to LaLiga.
