Chelsea and Liverpool Battle for PSV Star Johan Bakayoko in €50m Transfer
Chelsea and Liverpool are reportedly in a race to secure the signature of PSV Eindhoven star Johan Bakayoko in a €50m-€60m transfer deal for the upcoming summer window. The 20-year-old Belgium international has caught the eye of several top clubs, including Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, and Borussia Dortmund.
Having spent his entire senior career at PSV, Bakayoko has shown his versatility by being able to play as a winger or forward. This season, he has impressed in the Eredivisie with six goals and eight assists in 25 games. Bakayoko even found the back of the net in PSV’s 1-1 Champions League draw against Lens earlier this season.
Despite interest from other clubs, Chelsea and Liverpool are determined to secure Bakayoko’s services, with Manchester United and Brentford also having shown interest in the past. The young star has already helped PSV lift the KNVB Cup last season and has been named Eredivisie Talent of the Month multiple times.
Currently, PSV is leading the Dutch top-flight table by 10 points, and Bakayoko looks set to add an Eredivisie title to his list of achievements. With a contract at PSV until 2026 and nine caps for Belgium, Bakayoko’s future looks bright as he continues to attract attention from top clubs across Europe.
