Chelsea have been busy in the transfer window, with the club looking to trim the squad that Mauricio Pochettino is set to inherit from Frank Lampard. Nicolas Jackson’s arrival from Villarreal was confirmed on Friday evening and two more youngsters have been announced as Chelsea players on Saturday in Diego Moreira and Alex Matos. Moreira, 18, joined Benfica from Standard Liege in 2020 and was part of the side which won the 2022 UEFA Youth League. Having made his senior debut in May 2022, Moreira featured regularly for Benfica B last season. The teenage winger is part of Portugal’s squad at the European Under-21 Championship.

Matos, 18, meanwhile, is yet to make his senior debut but featured regularly for Norwich’s youth teams last season. Christian Pulisic, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Romelu Lukaku are all set to depart on permanent basis which will allow Chelsea room to regenerate their squad.
