Benzema has a superb 15 goals in the Champions League this season

Benzema has scored 15 goals in the Champions league this season, including three in Real’s semi-final win over Manchester City and four in the quarters against Chelsea.

Liverpool will have to keep the Frenchman quiet if they are to claim the prestigious trophy in Paris this weekend but that will be no easy task.

In terms of the UCL Golden Boot, Benzema is two ahead of second place Robert Lewandowski and a whopping seven clear of his nearest, still-active rival Mohamed Salah.

Other players who should feature in this weekend’s final include Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Rodrygo who are all on five goals.

Borussia Dortmund ace Erling Haaland, who has just agreed a deal to join City this summer, was the Champions league top scorer last season with 10.

Lewandowski claimed the award the campaign before with 15 and prior to that, it was dominated by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Benzema will dearly love to add his name to the list and cement his place in Champions League history.

Most assists in Champions League 2021/22

Assists are a big part of the modern game and the race for the most in the Champions League each season is almost as hotly contested as the goal stakes.

This season, Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes is leading the way despite his club being dumped out in the Round of 16.

Fernandes provided seven assists this term but he is being closely followed by Real star Vinicius Jr.

The 21-year-old Brazilian will be one of Real’s main weapons against Liverpool this weekend and he will be looking to overtake Fernandes in the assists charts.
