# Liel Abada Out for Up to Four Months with Thigh Injury
Celtic winger Liel Abada has been ruled out for up to four months with a thigh injury, manager Brendan Rodgers has announced. The 21-year-old sustained the injury on international duty with Israel. The Scottish Premiership champions host Dundee on Saturday and open their Champions League campaign away to Feyenoord on Tuesday.
## Injury Details
“He has gone to London today for a scan, but we think it is going to be around three to four months,” said Rodgers. “It looks like he has done his thigh muscle. He picked it up at the end of training in a shooting exercise.”
Abada recently signed a new four-year contract. “He signed a new deal and he seemed happy and I was looking forward to continuing his development because he has lots of areas that he can improve on,” said Rodgers. “It is a shame but he will work hard and get back and we will use him for the second part of the season.”
## Other Injury News
Meanwhile, Rodgers says midfielder Reo Hatate is ready to return from injury against Dundee and defender Cameron Carter-Vickers could be back next month.
The news of Abada’s injury is a major blow to Celtic as they prepare to face Dundee and Feyenoord in the coming days. Abada had been in good form during pre-season and had started in several games since Rodgers took over as manager.
## Looking Ahead
Celtic have a number of other players who can step up in Abada’s absence, including Hatate and Carter-Vickers. However, the loss of Abada is still a significant setback for the team.
Rodgers will now have to adjust his plans for the upcoming matches and look for other players to fill the void left by Abada. The manager will also be hoping that Abada can make a speedy recovery and be back in action as soon as possible.
In the meantime, Celtic will have to make do without their star winger as they look to continue their strong start to the season.
