Jozo Simunovic, the former Celtic defender, has revealed that he is considering retiring from football at the age of 28 and is already planning for his future after the sport. Simunovic was part of Brendan Rodgers’ Invincible side in the 2016/17 season, helping Celtic win 17 successive matches in all competitions during their unbeaten campaign. Simunovic spent five years at Celtic after joining from Dinamo Zagreb in 2015, lifting 11 trophies during his time at Parkhead. However, he left the club in 2020 and has been without a club since leaving HNK Gorica in Croatia last year. Simunovic has taken time away from football to focus on completing a sports management degree and his coaching badges. He is still unsure whether he will return to playing next season, but is planning to stay in football, possibly as a coach, agent or sports manager.
