Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka Apologizes for Injury to Liverpool’s Kostas Tsimikas
Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has issued an apology to Liverpool’s Kostas Tsimikas after inadvertently causing the player to break his collarbone during their match at Anfield on Saturday.
Tsimikas Forced Off with Injury
Tsimikas was forced off the field in the first half after colliding with his own manager, Jurgen Klopp, while battling for the ball with Saka. The Greek left-back was taken to the hospital for treatment.
This injury comes as a major blow to Liverpool, as their other left-back, Andy Robertson, is also currently sidelined.
Klopp’s Reaction
Klopp expressed his concern over Tsimikas’ injury in an interview with Sky Sports after the match. He confirmed that Tsimikas had broken his collarbone and would be out of action for an extended period. Klopp also mentioned the ongoing absence of Robertson, making the situation even more challenging for the team.
Saka’s Apology
Saka, speaking to Sky Sports, apologized for his role in causing Tsimikas’ injury. He stated that he did not intend to harm the player and believed it was a fair challenge. Saka expressed his remorse and wished Tsimikas a speedy recovery.
Premier League Standings
Arsenal’s draw with Liverpool has propelled them to the top of the Premier League table at Christmas. Their next match is scheduled for December 28 against West Ham. Liverpool, on the other hand, will face Burnley on Boxing Day (December 26).
