Brighton & Hove Albion’s head coach Roberto de Zerbi was delighted with the performance of his team following their 3-3 draw against Brentford at the Amex Stadium. The Seagulls put in a fantastic display to earn a great point against the Bees.
The match started off with a bang as Brighton took the lead in the first minute through Neal Maupay. However, Brentford responded quickly and equalised just two minutes later through Ollie Watkins. The Bees then took the lead in the 18th minute when Said Benrahma scored from the penalty spot.
Brighton continued to press and were rewarded when Maupay scored his second of the game in the 32nd minute. The Seagulls then took the lead again in the 44th minute when Adam Webster scored from close range.
Brentford refused to give up and equalised late on in the game when Mathias Jensen scored in the 86th minute. Despite both teams pushing for a winner, neither could find one and the game ended in a 3-3 draw.
After the match, Roberto de Zerbi praised his team for their performance and said that they deserved the point they earned. He said: “I think we put in a fantastic performance today and I’m really proud of my players. We showed great character to come back from behind twice and I think we deserved this great point.”
The draw sees Brighton remain in 15th place in the Premier League table, while Brentford stay in 8th place. Fans of both teams can watch highlights of the match on Match of the Day on Saturday 1 April at 22:20 on BBC One, BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport app.
