    • Half-time – Brentford 0-2 Arsenal

The first half draws to a close and Mikel Arteta will be the far happier of the two coaches.

It’s been very one sided with the Gunners taking their chances in style, courtesy of Saliba and Jesus.

I suspect Brentford are about to get a ‘telling off’ from Thomas Frank. They look like they don’t want to be there.

      Gunners in cruise control.

    • Brentford 0-2 Arsenal

45, Henry wakes up the crowd, bearing down the left. Toney then floats in a speculative ball where Mbeumo was arriving at the back stick. But he can’t get the right contact.

    • Brentford 0-2 Arsenal

43, Arsenal work the ball well and Tierney has time to line up, his effort flying a few yards over the target.

Brentford look devoid of any real energy.

    • Brentford 0-2 Arsenal

41, Saka darts inside and attempts to place one from distance but Brentford get bodies in the way.

One more and Brentford are out of this. They need to hold on for half-time.

    • Brentford 0-2 Arsenal

39, The game has fallen a little flat as Brentford attempt to break down Arsenal’s back line, but no luck.

I wonder if we’ll see a change of system from Thomas frank after the break. Five at the back doesn’t seem to be working at the moment.

    • Brentford 0-2 Arsenal

37, Jesus attempts to dink one over Jensen’s head on the edge of his own six-yard box. A touch of the over-confidence there, but the home side can’t punish them.

    • Brentford 0-2 Arsenal

35, Xhaka is a little over-ambitious, cannoning an effort well over the bar with his right foot. His hand is immediately raised in apology and that’s the most the Brentford fans have had to cheer about all afternoon.

They need more from the players.

    • Brentford 0-2 Arsenal

32, Mikel Arteta will be delighted with this performance. It looked like a really tricky fixture on paper, but they have been in control since minute 1 and have done what they didn’t against Manchester United: convert their chances.

    • GOAL! – Brentford 0-2 Arsenal

27, Jesus deals Brentford a second lethal blow, heading home a brilliant Xhaka delivery.

The Swiss international curls in a perfect ball to Jesus who made a great run, leaping well and directing his header into the top corner. Raya’s fingertips couldn’t keep it out.

Clinical, clockwork Arsenal. Brentford look stunned.

    • Brentford 0-1 Arsenal

24, Jesus is looking sharp as ever, demanding the ball wherever he can, and beating the Brentford players to it every time.

Xhaka takes a heavy touch and the ball bounces out of play for a throw-in.

Brentford are yet to really respond and the crowd are subdued.

    • Brentford 0-1 Arsenal

22, Gabriel is down receiving some treatment, holding his calf.

He pulled up in the warm-up and held a similar area, but it looks as though he’s going to keep going for now.

    • Brentford 0-1 Arsenal

That goal underlines Arsenal’s size. They look scary from set-pieces and have a number of players who can score with their head.

They look far from the ‘soft’ Arsenal we saw last season.

    • Brentford 0-1 Arsenal

16, Saliba puts the Gunners in front!

What a header! Saka curls in the corner and Saliba runs across the front post, unmarked to steal in ahead of Toney and glance a header across goal. It bounces off the post and is clawed out by Raya.

A few seconds of confusion before the referee’s watch awards that it was over the line.

This young man just keeps getting better and better. Arsenal take the lead!

    • Brentford 0-0 Arsenal

15, Saka gets down the left and crosses one in. But who’s there to block? Ivan Toney. Brilliant work ethic from the England international.

    • Brentford 0-0 Arsenal

14, Signs of frustration creeping into this Arsenal side early on.

Ramsdale spots Saka in space but he can’t bring it down under the pressure of Henry. He screams for a free-kick, but nothing doing.

    • Brentford 0-0 Arsenal

12, Martinelli swings in the free-kick and White heads back across goal. Jensen is there to avert the danger.

Mee then slides in on Vieira drawing a huge roar from the crowd. A wry smile from the defender.

    • Brentford 0-0 Arsenal

10, Vieira spots Jesus through the middle, but the Brazilian hadn’t seen Mee behind him who lumps the ball clear.

The defender is then in firmly on Jesus and concedes the free-kick.

This is a good crossing position for the Gunners.

    • Brentford 0-0 Arsenal

8, Martinelli dips inside and curls one into the channel. Mee is positioned well to hook it clear but Arsenal come again.

    • Brentford 0-0 Arsenal

7, The game has slowed a little, with Arsenal just waiting for a gap to present itself.

Gabriel nearly plays himself into trouble but gets away with it this time.

    • Brentford 0-0 Arsenal

      5, Ramsdale forced into action.

Henry stands up a ball to the back post and Mbeumo does well to get there, but his header is fairly simple for Ramsdale to hold on to.

    • Brentford 0-0 Arsenal

3, Vieira gives away a silly foul and Brentford have a chance from the free-kick, not too much further out from where Toney found the top corner 2 weeks ago.

But Ajer takes it short instead and the move comes to nothing.

    • Brentford 0-0 Arsenal

2, Arsenal have been king of the sharp starts so far this season and they are back at it today, moving the ball fluidly between them.

A defence splitting pass finds Xhaka who plays it first time to Martinelli who scuffs his shot.

      Brentford have been warned.

    • Kick-off – Brentford vs Arsenal

A rendition of the national anthem is sung following a moment of silence.

The managers leave the field and referee David Coote gets this London derby underway!

    • Here come the two teams!

Thomas Frank and Mikel Arteta lead out their sides bearing wreaths in respect for the Queen.

A moment of silence will now be held in her memory.

    • Bad omens

The last time Mikel Arteta won the Manager of the Month award, he lost his next three matches on the bounce.

Fans will be hoping for the opposite this time round.

A win this afternoon will take Arsenal ahead of rivals Tottenham and top of the Premier League table.

A win for Brentford would take them within two points of today’s opposition.

      Fine margins.
