BRENTFORD have set their sights on Netherlands’ No 2 keeper Mark Flekken.
The Bees want competition for David Raya and like experienced Flekken, 29, who is at German side Freiburg.
The valuation is too high but the West Londoners may move if it goes under £10million.
Flekken, a four-time Netherlands international, kept ten clean sheets in 32 Bundesliga appearances in the most recent campaign.
Last season’s deputies Alvaro Fernanez and Jonas Lossl have been sent back to Huesca and Midtjylland respectively after their loan deals came to an end.
Spanish keeper Raya impressed for Brentford before and after his three-month injury layoff in the middle of the campaign.
The 26-year-old kept an impressive clean sheets in 24 Premier League outings.
His form led to a maiden Spain call-up back in March.
Meanwhile, Newcastle keeper Freddie Woodman is off to Preston despite a late move by Birmingham.
Woodman, 25, has been close to joining Preston for weeks as we revealed, and the figures are about to be finalised.
Elsewhere Birmingham’s move for Crystal Palace stopper Jack Butland is faltering.
