Gary Lineker may be returning as host of Match of the Day after the BBC suspended him for breaching impartiality guidelines. Lineker had compared the UK government’s immigration policy to that of 1930s Germany, prompting a walkout by other presenters and commentators. The BBC’s coverage was disrupted, with several sports shows cancelled. However, the corporation’s director general, Tim Davie, has indicated that he is keen for Lineker to return. Lineker’s son, George, also believes that his father will be back on the show.
