Bayer Leverkusen are reportedly looking for a fee of €40m (£34m) plus add-ons for Jeremie Frimpong this summer, with Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Barcelona all interested in signing the 22-year-old full-back. Frimpong began his career at Manchester City before signing for Celtic in 2019, and then moving to Leverkusen in January 2021.
When asked about his future in April, Frimpong told Sport 1: ‘I don’t know when I will decide about my future. I’m just concentrating on Leverkusen and the upcoming games.’
Manchester United are likely to be busy in the transfer window, with Erik ten Hag keen to add to his squad and also get rid of some fringe players. Harry Maguire, Brandon Williams, Eric Bailly and Alex Telles are all available for transfer, while Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial’s futures are also in question. If Frimpong is to arrive at Old Trafford, there would be doubts over Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, with one potentially being moved on.
