Barcelona’s Response to Man Utd’s Mason Greenwood Price Request
Barcelona has informed Manchester United that they will not meet the €60 million asking price for Mason Greenwood, as reported in Spain. The 22-year-old forward joined Getafe on loan after leaving Old Trafford last summer. Greenwood had faced legal issues earlier this year but all charges against him were dropped in February. Despite United considering his reintegration into the squad, backlash from fans led to a change in plans.
Recent talks between United and Barcelona revealed that the Premier League club is seeking a fee between €40m and €60m for Greenwood. However, Barcelona has made it clear that they are not willing to meet this valuation. The Spanish champions have been monitoring Greenwood’s progress at Getafe but the asking price is reportedly outside of their budget.
United’s co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, has left the door open for Greenwood’s return and a decision on his future will be made soon. For more updates on this developing story and other sports news, stay tuned to Metro Sport on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
