# Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo Join Barcelona on Loan
Barcelona have completed the loan signings of Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix and Manchester City full-back Joao Cancelo. Both players have joined the club on season-long loan deals, with neither agreement including an option to buy.
## Joao Cancelo
Portugal international Cancelo, 29, spent last season on loan at Bayern Munich having fallen out of favour at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester City. During his time at City, Cancelo made an integral part in two Premier League titles and was named in the PFA Team of the Year in 2021 and 2022 after joining from Juventus for £60m in 2019.
## Joao Felix
Meanwhile, compatriot Felix, 23, joined Atletico Madrid for £113m in 2019 and had an unsuccessful six-month loan spell at Chelsea last season, scoring four goals in 20 games for the Blues. He has not played for Atletico since January and previously said that playing for Barcelona was his “dream”.
Felix has also extended his Atletico contract until 2029 to help smooth the transfer through, with Barcelona’s financial issues meaning they have had to wait to sign the Portuguese pair and Ansu Fati’s move to Brighton helping to make it possible.
## Conclusion
The loan signings of Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo are a major coup for Barcelona and will be a welcome addition to the squad as they look to challenge for major honours this season. Both players have a wealth of experience at the highest level and will be looking to make an impact at the Camp Nou in the coming months.
