Avram Glazer REFUSES to answer when asked why he’s selling Man Utd and breaks silence on Cristiano Ronaldo termination

MANCHESTER UNITED owner Avram Glazer refused to answer when asked why he decided to sell the club.

The Glazer family put the club up for sale on Tuesday after years of backlash from fans and protests against their ownership.

But the American refused to reveal the motivation behind putting the club on the market.

He told Sky: “The board went through a process and decided to explore different strategical options for Manchester United.”

Earlier this week a statement from the family outlined their desire to “explore strategic alternatives for the club”.

The controversial American owners are prepared to sell the club outright, with a deal expected to be worth around £9BILLION.

Glazer also spoke about Cristiano Ronaldo leaving the club this week and he had nothing but kind words for the Portuguese.

He added: “Well, I’ll tell you about Cristiano Ronaldo – he’s a great Manchester United player, I appreciate everything he’s done for the club.

“I wish Ronaldo the best luck in the future.”

The decision to terminate Ronaldo’s contract came after the superstar slammed several aspects of the club.

He revealed he does not respect Erik ten Hag and also criticised the appointment of Ralf Rangnick – who he had not heard of prior to his arrival last season.

But Ronaldo also condemned the Glazer’s ownership of United, claiming the club had not progressed since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure in 2013.
