Aston Villa vs Southampton LIVE commentary: Premier League football returns as Martinez, Watkins and Coutinho start for hosts, Djenepo replaces Aribo for Saints

Aston Villa take on Southampton tonight as Premier League football returns.

Last weekend’s fixtures were cancelled following the death of Queen Elizabeth but seven top-flight games will take place over the coming days.

There will be two matches on Friday night, both on the talkSPORT network, as Nottingham Forest host Fulham and Villa take on Southampton.

Steven Gerrard’s Villains are only outside of the drop zone on goal difference having picked up four points from six games so far this season.

The pressure has been building on Gerrard and he needs a big performance from his men.

Southampton, meanwhile, have impressed with their football at times this term but lost at Wolves last time out.
