“Aston Villa joins Arsenal and Newcastle in pursuit of Youri Tielemans after Leicester departure”

Reports suggest that Aston Villa has entered the race to sign Youri Tielemans, joining Arsenal and Newcastle. Leicester confirmed on Monday that Tielemans, along with six other players, will leave on a free this summer following their relegation from the Premier League. Tielemans spent four-and-a-half years with Leicester and was key to helping the club finish fifth in back-to-back seasons under Brendan Rodgers. The 26-year-old’s form has dipped somewhat over the past two seasons, but he remains highly-rated and highly sought after with a number of clubs across Europe keen. Villa is expected to make an approach for him soon, with Unai Emery keen on signing a midfielder having missed out on one in January.
