Arsenal’s Top Earner at £275k-a-week Leaves Fans Astonished

Arsenal fans have been left shocked after learning that Kai Havertz is the club’s highest earner, pocketing £275,000 every week. The revelation has caused a meltdown on social media, with many Gunners supporters expressing anger and confusion. Some fans have even called for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu to be sacked after hearing the news.

The news was revealed by Arsenal transfer guru David Ornstein on The Athletic Football Podcast. Havertz, who joined Arsenal from Chelsea for £65m this summer, has raised eyebrows with his high salary. Arteta has been attempting to mold Havertz into more of a midfielder rather than a forward since his arrival at the Emirates. So far, Havertz has produced five goals and one assist across 30 games for the north London club.

Arsenal fans have taken to social media to express their frustration and disappointment. One fan posted on Twitter, “Lost the title to [Manchester] City and they thought the way to bridge that gap was to spend £65m on Kai Havertz and give him the highest salary in the squad? Get Arteta and Edu out man. We’re not seeing the promised land with those two donkeys.”

Another fan expressed their confusion, stating, “No matter how you look at it, this makes no sense. We are doing him a favor by trying to resurrect his career, he shouldn’t be the highest paid especially after costing £65m. The least a manager should do if he is willing to spend £65m on a Chelsea flop and make him the highest paid is to at least play him in his most natural and best position to give the player a chance of justifying the outlay.”

The frustration among Arsenal fans is palpable. One fan criticized the manager, saying, “This manager is a joke. This is what dumb Arsenal fans believe is gonna make us successful, buying players off names and hype when they are bang average. [Emile] Smith Rowe didn’t cost us a penny and he’s way better suited in midfield than Havertz. Havertz plays left back for his country.”

Fans are also questioning the decision-making of Arsenal’s sporting director, Edu. One fan posted, “What??????????????????????????????????? He doesn’t deserve even if he scores many goals in the future. There are players who deserve the highest salary more than Havertz.” Another fan compared the situation to Mesut Ozil’s time at Arsenal, saying, “Oh my god it’s like Ozil all over again. Why the f*** is he on so much?”

The frustration continues to mount, with fans expressing concern about the future. One fan posted, “My head will never not spin seeing Havertz at Arsenal for the next 5/6 years. 275k a week and we have about 10 players who can ask for that, messing up our wage bill for 1 PLAYER.” Another fan expressed disappointment in the deal, stating, “Worst thing is he’s gonna leave on a free to a s*** team in Germany at the end of his contract.”

It is clear that Arsenal fans are not happy with Kai Havertz being the club’s top earner. The decision to give him such a high salary has been met with criticism and calls for change within the club. Only time will tell if this move pays off for Arsenal or if it will further contribute to their struggles on the pitch.
