Reports suggest that Reiss Nelson could be leaving Arsenal this summer. The Hale End graduate was the hero in Arsenal’s comeback win against Bournemouth on Saturday, scoring the winning goal in the final minute of the game. However, Nelson’s contract with the club is set to expire in June, which could see him leave the Emirates Stadium. Despite this, Fabrizio Romano has reported that the 23-year-old would “love” to stay at Arsenal.

Nelson has only made three appearances in the league for Mikel Arteta’s side this season, all of which were as a substitute. However, he has been effective in these outings, registering a goal and an assist against Bournemouth and two goals and an assist against Nottingham Forest. His season has been hampered by thigh issues, limiting him to just eight appearances in all competitions.

Following his winning goal against Bournemouth, Arteta praised Nelson’s potential, talent and desire to succeed. He also acknowledged that Nelson’s experiences have helped him emotionally and that he is currently at a different level.

Despite his limited playing time this season, a host of clubs are reportedly interested in signing Nelson come the end of the season. These include Brentford, West Ham and Crystal Palace in London, as well as Everton, Southampton and Championship leaders Burnley.

It remains to be seen whether Nelson will stay at Arsenal or move on to another club. However, his potential and talent are undeniable, and he could prove to be an important player for any team that signs him.
