Arsenal Defender Takehiro Tomiyasu to Miss Action Until February
Arsenal’s Takehiro Tomiyasu is set to be sidelined until February due to a calf injury, according to reports from talkSPORT. After the injury, Tomiyasu will then represent Japan at the Asia Cup.
The talented defender has been in excellent form for Arsenal but was absent from their thrilling last-minute 4-3 victory over Luton on Tuesday night. Tomiyasu sustained the injury during the closing stages of the match against Wolves and is expected to be out of action for a considerable period.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta expressed his disappointment with Tomiyasu’s injury status after the Luton game, stating, “We had a scan and it’s not good news. He’s got an injury in his calf and he’s going to be out for a while.”

Tomiyasu himself took to Instagram to address his injury, saying, “I’m frustrated with being injured, but I believe this is an opportunity to become even stronger.”
Tomiyasu joined Arsenal in 2021 from Bologna for a transfer fee of £17 million. He has since made 72 appearances for the club and has become a beloved figure among the fans.
