Arsenal are yet to make a serious offer to Leicester City for midfielder Youri Tielemans.
And, talkSPORT understands the Gunners’ hesitance surrounding the Belgian is due to concerns over his physicality.
Tielemans has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium practically all summer, but has so far stayed put at Leicester.
Manchester United have also made the 25-year-old one of their targets, with the midfielder seen as a top class alternative should the Red Devils fail to get a deal for Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona over the line.
Arsenal, though, are so far unwilling to make a commitment to try and sign Tielemans as Mikel Arteta looks to continue the summer makeover of his squad.
The north London club has already spent over £100million on new players this summer, including deals for Man City duo Gabriel Jesus and Olekdandr Zinchenko, and young Portuguese midfielder Fabio Vieira from Porto.
Areteta is said to be keen to add further depth to his midfield, especially with doubts over the future of current star Granit Xhaka.
But while reports linking Tielemans with a transfer have persisted, it is understood Arteta has not yet told his club to pursue the Belgium international over concerns he doesn’t have the physical presence the manager is looking for to run his team.

That’s despite the Leicester star looking in great shape as he reported for pre-season training, with images showing Tielemans has shed some pounds ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
He’s also enjoyed an impressive pre-season with several shining performances for the Foxes.
Leicester chairman Aiyawatt ‘Top’ Srivaddhanaprabha has confirmed the club are yet to receive any offers for the star.
“There haven’t been any offers yet,” the Foxes chief said about Tielemans.
“There hasn’t been anything concrete or a proposition yet.”
Tielemans has a year left on his current contract at the King Power and could leave as a free agent next summer.
He is one of Brendan Rodgers’ key players at the King Power Stadium, and has been selected as captain in a few of the club’s pre-season friendlies, against Hull and Derby County – a sign of how highly they value the Belgian ace.
Tielemans made 32 appearances in the Premier League last season, making 29 starts, and ended the campaign with six goals and four assists as Leicester finished eighth in the table.
