Arsenal’s Summer Transfer Targets Revealed
Arsenal is gearing up for the summer transfer window with plans to strengthen their squad in key areas. The Gunners are reportedly targeting a new striker, winger, and central midfielder to bolster their ranks.
The club’s top priority is to recruit a striker, following their failure to do so in January. With concerns over Gabriel Jesus’ injury record, Arsenal has a four-man list of potential targets in mind.
In addition to a striker, Arsenal is also looking to bring in a new out-and-out winger to supplement the talents of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli. Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi is believed to be a top target for the Gunners in this position.
Zubimendi, who has been capped four times by Spain, has a release clause of €60m (£51.2m) and is also attracting interest from Barcelona and Bayern Munich. Should Arsenal secure his signature, he could potentially replace Thomas Partey in the squad.
On the same day that news of Arsenal’s interest in a new winger broke, it was revealed how much Nicolas Pepe cost the club in total. Pepe, who failed to live up to expectations after joining from Lille for £72m in 2019, moved to Trabzonspor as a free agent in September after his contract with Arsenal was terminated.
With Pepe’s disappointing spell at the club in mind, Arsenal will be looking to avoid a similar situation by bringing in fresh competition for players like Leandro Trossard and Reiss Nelson.
As the summer transfer window approaches, Arsenal fans will be eagerly anticipating the club’s moves to strengthen the squad and improve their chances of success in the upcoming season.
