Arsenal, Sole Kroenke-Owned Team Without Title After Denver Nuggets’ NBA Win

Date:

Stan Kroenke, the American billionaire who owns Arsenal, has enjoyed a string of successes with his sports teams in the US over the past 18 months. In February 2022, his NFL side, the Los Angeles Rams, won their second Super Bowl under his ownership, followed by the Colorado Mammoth’s NLL Championship win just a few months later. The Colorado Avalanche then won their second Stanley Cup under Kroenke’s ownership since 2000. Denver Nuggets’ NBA Finals win over Miami Heat completed a stunning year-and-a-half for the 75-year-old. Even Kroenke’s MLS side, Colorado Rapids, won the MLS Cup in 2010, leaving Arsenal as his only team that has not won a league title under his ownership. Despite winning the FA Cup on four occasions since he gained controlling interest of the north Londoners in 2011, Kroenke has been a deeply unpopular figure amongst the Arsenal fanbase during the majority of his tenure. However, fans have begun to change their opinion on ‘Silent Stan’ with boss Mikel Arteta being backed in the transfer market in the last two summer windows, coinciding with Arsenal’s return to the Champions League for the first time since 2017. Kroenke is set to open his purse strings to bring West Ham skipper Declan Rice in a club-record £100million move, and with it set to be another busy summer in north London, fans will be hoping that it won’t be long until Arsenal become Kroenke’s latest success story.
