Arsenal Women Set to Sign USWNT Defender Emily Fox
Arsenal Women are on the verge of finalizing a deal for Emily Fox, a talented defender from the US Women’s National Team (USWNT). The 25-year-old player, who has already earned 39 caps for her country, was inadvertently captured in the background of a photo featuring Beth Mead and Leah Williamson during the club’s recent training camp in Portugal.
The acquisition of a right-back has been a top priority for Arsenal since the summer, following Laura Wienroither’s anterior cruciate ligament injury in May. Katie McCabe has been filling in at right-back for most of the 2023-24 season. However, with the squad registration already full heading into January, Noelle Maritz’s permanent departure to Aston Villa has created an opening in the team.
These potential signings align with head coach Jonas Eidevall’s comments about the upcoming January transfer window. Eidevall stated that the squad is not set in stone and that he anticipates both incoming and outgoing player movements.
Arsenal’s first match of the new year will be in the FA Cup against Watford on January 14. This means that Michelle Agyemang, Katie Reid, and Laila Harbert (who is currently on a dual-agreement from Arsenal with Watford) will be eligible to play.

As Arsenal Women gear up for an exciting new year, the addition of Emily Fox promises to strengthen their defense and provide valuable support in their pursuit of success.
