According to talkSPORT, Arsenal are still the favourites to sign Declan Rice, despite Bayern Munich expressing interest in the midfielder. While the German giants have notified Rice’s camp of their interest, they believe he is more likely to stay in the Premier League. Rice, who has 41 England caps, has attracted interest from several clubs both in England and abroad. West Ham boss David Moyes has admitted that there is a good chance the club will lose their prized asset this summer. Manchester United and Chelsea have also been linked with Rice, but Arsenal are leading the race to sign him.
Despite West Ham finishing in a disappointing 14th place in the Premier League in the 2022/23 season, Rice has enjoyed another good season with them. He has played a key role in helping the Hammers reach the Europa Conference League final, their first European final in 47 years, where they will take on Italian side Fiorentina on June 7.
Arsenal, who enjoyed a season of huge progression, ultimately ended up disappointed as they were beaten to the Premier League title by Manchester City and failed to win any other trophy on offer. However, manager Mikel Arteta is set to be backed again in the summer transfer window with Rice and Brighton star Moises Caicedo heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.
Bayern Munich, by their extremely high standards, have had a tough season having been knocked out of the DFB-Pokal (German FA Cup) and Champions League quarter-finals. However, they secured their 11th straight league title last weekend, pipping Borussia Dortmund to the post on a dramatic final day of the Bundesliga season.
