Gabriel Martinelli faces a battle to be fit for the start of the season after suffering an ankle injury against Brighton last weekend. The Brazil international was forced off after just 20 minutes against the Seagulls after a bad challenge from Moises Caicedo and is reported to have suffered ligament damage. As a result, Martinelli will miss Arsenal’s last two games of the Premier League season against Nottingham Forest and Wolves. However, Arsenal are confident he will have recovered in time for the start of pre-season.
Oleksandr Zinchenko’s availability for the remainder of the season is also uncertain after he suffered a calf strain in the recent win over Newcastle. The Ukraine international was expected to miss the rest of the campaign but was a surprise participant in first team training last Saturday. However, he failed a late fitness test which handed Kieran Tierney a rare staring opportunity in the Premier League.
