Arsenal in talks with Burnley over Albert Sambi Lokonga and Sheffield United for Auston Trusty
Arsenal have been busy in the transfer market this summer, with Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber all arriving at the Emirates Stadium. Now, the Gunners are looking to balance the books by offloading some fringe players.
The Telegraph report that Burnley are in talks over a season-long loan move for Belgian midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga, while Sheffield United are leading the race for United States international Auston Trusty.
Albert Sambi Lokonga
Lokonga had already fallen out of contention last season, spending the second half of the campaign on loan at Crystal Palace, and with the arrival of Rice his first team prospects do not look to have improved.
The 23-year-old midfielder would reunite with former manager Vincent Kompany at Burnley, having worked together at Anderlecht before they both separately moved over to England. Kompany would love to have the midfielder at his disposal again.
Auston Trusty
Trusty only joined Arsenal from Colorado Rapids last year and is yet to make an appearance for the north London club, but may well never pull on the Gunners shirt.
The 24-year-old defender spent last season on loan at Birmingham City in the Championship and impressed, making 48 appearances in all competitions and winning the supporters’ Player of the Season award.
Unsurprisingly there is interest from the Championship in him again, with Ipswich Town and Swansea City touted as possible destinations, but newly-promoted Premier League outfit Sheffield United are reportedly leading the way to sign him.
Conclusion
It has been a busy summer for Arsenal in the transfer market, and it looks set to continue with the Gunners looking to shed some fringe players. Albert Sambi Lokonga is in talks with Burnley over a season-long loan move, while Sheffield United are leading the race for Auston Trusty.
