Arsenal may delay Rice and Caicedo deals to finance more transfers, including Mount, in a significant overhaul with six players departing.

The club had planned to make two major signings, with up to £150m allocated for central midfielders Declan Rice and Moises Caicedo. However, Arteta now believes that other areas of the squad also need strengthening and is exploring ways to finance moves for two more defenders and possibly another winger. This comes after Arteta noted that the team’s title challenge was undermined by centre-half William Saliba’s injury absence. With Arsenal returning to the Champions League next season, Arteta is keen to ensure that all squad players are up to the required standard. The club is now looking at potentially cheaper alternatives, including Chelsea’s Mason Mount and Leicester’s Youri Tielemans, who will be a free agent in the summer.
