Four Premier League teams will be competing in the 2023/24 Champions League, with Manchester City, Arsenal, Manchester United and Newcastle all set to represent England in Europe’s top tournament. City, as reigning champions, have been placed in Pot 1 alongside other title-winners from Europe’s top six leagues, while Arsenal and United have been placed in Pot 2. Newcastle are in Pot 4 alongside Scottish champions Celtic. Pots 3 and 4 are decided by UEFA’s five-year coefficient score.
The Champions League group stage draw is set to take place on 31st August with the games getting underway on 19th September. Liverpool, Brighton and West Ham will be competing in the Europa League, while Aston Villa will be the sole representative in the Europa Conference League.
This will be the last edition of the Champions League as we know it, with the tournament evolving to a Swiss-style model with two extra fixtures per club from 2024/25 onwards.
