‘Arsenal look a bit special’ – Tottenham fan Jamie O’Hara admits it’s ‘almost’ a joy to watch Gunners and compares them to Man City

Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O’Hara has said Arsenal ‘look a bit special’ and expressed his concerns over one of Spurs’ star players.

The Gunners breezed past Bournemouth 3-0 on Saturday, making it a perfect start to the season under Mikel Arteta with a performance that certainly caught the eye.

Gabriel Jesus, the £45million summer signing from Manchester City, put in another sublime display with a mazy run for the first of Martin Odegaard’s two goals, and then William Saliba capped off a brilliant showing at the back with a delightful curling effort.

Arsenal have taken an early lead in the Premier League table with wins against Crystal Palace and Leicester also on the board, and Spurs fan O’Hara is sounding a little bit worried.

“They are looking a bit special this Arsenal side,” the talkSPORT host admitted.

“They look like Man City in a way it’s like they’ve almost got that where they’re playing like Pep Guardiola’s Man City, it’s almost a joy to watch and I’m a Spurs fan.

“They’re looking like a team that could actually be in amongst it.”

O’Hara’s GameDay Phone-In co-host Gabby Agbonlahor agreed, sending a warning to last season’s runners-up, Liverpool.

He said: “Liverpool haven’t got to worry about Man City, Spurs are going to be up there, Arsenal are looking like a good team, Chelsea are looking good and are going to sign some more players.

“So it’s not just going to be Liverpool chasing Manchester City, I really feel Arsenal and Spurs will close that gap to Manchester City.”

Antonio Conte’s Tottenham are two points back from their north London rivals thanks to a 2-2 draw against Chelsea, and O’Hara also admitted some worries over one of their star players.

Last season’s joint Premier League Golden Boot winner, Heung-min Son, hasn’t had such a rapid start to the new campaign, registering just a single assist so far, coming in a 4-1 opening day win over Southampton.

The Korean played the whole match in the curtain raiser, but in Spurs’ last two fixtures he has been subbed off with over 10 minutes to play with Conte possessing an extra attacking option.

Richarlison, a £60m summer signing from Everton, has been utilised in the closing moments of games, and O’Hara feels like Son isn’t too pleased.

He explained: “Richarlison coming in has changed something in Conte’s mind because he’s dragging Son if he’s not feeling like Son’s giving enough to the team.

“I don’t think Son’s used to that, he’s always been the 90 minute man, he plays with [Harry] Kane until the end, those two players just don’t come off.

“Now because he’s got the option he’s now thinking after 75 minutes if Son’s not doing the business I’m going to drag him.

“I’ve seen him today, Son didn’t look that happy to be coming off, he wasn’t happy with it.”
