Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli laughs as Fabio Vieira takes ball to face from Cedric Soares in training ahead of Europa League clash

It’s fair to say Arsenal midfielder Fabio Vieira had a training session to forget on Wednesday afternoon.

The 22-year-old joined the Gunners from Porto in the summer but has found game time limited so far.

Vieira was present as Mikel Arteta’s side geared up for their Europa League clash with Bodo/Glimt on Thursday.

He was involved in a rondo session with some of his teammates including, Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli and Cedric Soares.

The Portugal under-21 international was the man in the middle along with Eddie Nketiah, as he looked to stop the ball reaching another Arsenal player.

However, in a clip posted online, Vieira can be seen taking a whack to the face after fellow Portuguese teammate Cedric flicked the ball up.

The incident caught the attention of all involved, and none more so than Gabriel Martinelli, who could be seen in hysterics following the drama.

It did go from bad to worse though for Vieira, after he limped out of training later on, appearing to be in pain after being caught on the right foot by one of his teammates during the session.

The Portuguese star was expected to start for the visit of the Norwegian champions.

Manager Mikel Arteta will therefore be hoping the knock is nothing serious.

Vieira arrived at Arsenal in the summer with a foot injury, after suffering a small fracture while on international duty in June.

The Gunners will be hoping his latest blow is nothing serious, as he looks to impress for his side.
