Arsenal fans will be smug after Dusan Vlahovic rejected them for Juventus – and now Italian giants hit with 15 point deduction in Serie A

When Dusan Vlahovic opted to sign for Juventus over Arsenal last January, Gunners fans were frustrated to have missed out.

However, amid the recent news of Juventus’ 15 point deduction in the Serie A, they may now have a smug look on their faces.

The Italian giants have been punished for financial irregularities, with the club’s entire board resigning last November amid an investigation.

Juventus were sitting third in the table on 37 points, but they have now dropped to 10th as a result of the deduction.

Vlahovic may begin to regret his decision to join Juventus, especially when he could have been part of an Arsenal side who are the current Premier League leaders.

The striker spoke on the links to the Gunners after his move, saying: “Maybe my agent knows [about Arsenal’s offer] but I never talked to anyone about it.

“I just had one club in my mind because Juventus is Juventus. There is nothing else to say. And now I feel honoured to be given this jersey. It’s incredible every time I put it on.

“I definitely identify with their DNA. The Juventus personality coincides with my personality.

“When you come here you never give up, you fight all the time, you make the sacrifices. This was definitely what I was looking for.”

Vlahovic has netted 16 goals in 36 appearances for Juventus since he joined last year.

Their quest for this season’s Serie A title is now near impossible though, with Champions League qualification also a tough prospect.

Arsenal on the other hand are on course to win their first Premier League title since 2004.

The Gunners signed Gabriel Jesus just a few months after Vlahovic’s snub, an addition that has proved to be beneficial.

Come May, Gunners fans may have the last laugh, with Juventus’ potential for future success now uncertain.
