Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio, whose contract expires at the end of next month, making him a free agent. The Gunners are looking to strengthen their squad after narrowly missing out on the Premier League title to Manchester City. While central midfield is the area that Mikel Arteta feels needs strengthening the most, he is also keen to bring in a new winger to provide cover and competition. Asensio has rejected fresh terms put forward by Real Madrid and is now free to hold talks with foreign clubs. AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be interested in the 27-year-old. Asensio is capable of playing in multiple positions across the attacking line, though his preferred position is on the right flank cutting onto his excellent left foot.
