Former Liverpool Duo Firmino and Fabinho Return to Anfield to Watch Newcastle Match
On the first day of 2024, former Liverpool players Roberto Firmino and Fabinho were spotted at Anfield to support their old team as they faced Newcastle. The duo left Liverpool in the summer to join clubs in the Saudi Pro League, with Firmino signing for Al Ahli and Fabinho joining Al Ittihad.
Liverpool’s match against Newcastle at Anfield could potentially see them go three points clear at the top of the Premier League. Despite losing key players like Firmino and Fabinho in the summer, Liverpool’s replacements, including Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Wataru Endo, have been performing well and forming a new-look midfield under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp.
Another midfield departure from Liverpool in the summer was Jordan Henderson, who joined Al Ettifaq with Steven Gerrard. However, neither Henderson nor Gerrard were in attendance at Anfield, as the Saudi Pro League is currently on break. The league will resume in February, with Al Hilal leading the way.
