Andreas Christensen still has Chelsea shirt in Instagram profile pic and no Barcelona posts – but ex-Blues defender ‘relaxed’ about Nou Camp future despite not being registered

Andreas Christensen still has a Chelsea shirt in his Instagram profile picture and remains yet to post about joining Barcelona.

The Denmark defender, 26, is not yet registered with LaLiga despite swapping Stamford Bridge for the Nou Camp on a free transfer in July.

Barcelona begin their league campaign against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday and financial obstacles have delayed the club from registering five new signings.

According to ESPN, Christensen and Franck Kessie, who both arrived on free transfers, can leave for nothing if they are not registered with LaLiga by Saturday.

It is understood Barcelona are not concerned by the situation and, having used a number of financial levers already, the Catalans are confident of rasing the £85million needed to prove they have the budget to fund their squad.

Guardian journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the clause in Christensen and Kessie’s contracts, but insists both players expect to remain at Barca for ‘many years’.

Nevertheless, Christensen’s social media might cause alarm among the Nou Camp faithful.

As rumours swirl, eagle-eyed fans noticed that the Danish centre-back’s Instagram account makes no reference to his Barca switch, besides a post thanking Chelsea fans.

Many Blues fans would relish chaos at the Nou Camp after losing out to the Spanish giants on numerous occasions this summer.

Christensen turned down a new contract at Chelsea to join Barca, while the Premier League side saw deals for Jules Kounde and Raphinha hijacked by the Catalan club.
