Andre Ayew was still celebrating his equaliser on substitutes bench when Portugal scored… then threw water bottle down as Ghana conceded again

Andre Ayew could not quite believe it when his Ghana side conceded just seconds after he came off the pitch.

The 32-year-old got his side back on level terms as he cancelled out Cristiano Ronaldo’s penalty for Portugal.

Having done his job for his team, the 110-cap veteran was substituted and took the congratulations of his teammates. It was also his 24th goal for his country and looked like it might be an important one.

However, within moments of being withdrawn from the pitch Joao Felix put Portugal back in front.

Ayew’s face said it all as he couldn’t believe that his side had let a goal in so quickly.

Things went from bad to worse for Ghana as they conceded again when Rafael Leao netted and the former Crystal Palace man was not impressed.

He slammed down his water bottle in the dugout as his team seemingly threw away a point.

They nearly got themselves back into it when Osman Bukari got a goal back for Ghana, then pulled out the Cristiano Ronaldo ‘Siiiuuu’ celebration.

Portugal held their nerve though to claim a 3-2 victory and it was clear how devastated the Ghana players were after the final whistle.
