Reliable media outlets in Argentina have reported details of a potential deal for Alexis Mac Allister to join Liverpool. The World Cup-winning midfielder, currently contracted to Brighton until 2025, is expected to command a fee of around £60 million and a weekly wage of £100,000 on a five-year deal, with the option of a one-year extension. This follows reports that a deal to bring the 24-year-old to Anfield was “already complete”, with Chelsea also said to be among a number of clubs interested in a move for the midfielder. Liverpool are looking to rebuild their midfield options after the departures of James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita, as well as question marks over the fitness and age of a number of players that will remain at the club. Mac Allister is one of several high-profile midfielders linked with a switch to Anfield, including Mason Mount, Ryan Gravenberch and Matheus Nunes. The Reds will be hoping to secure any potential new signings as soon as the season draws to a close in order to facilitate integration into the squad during pre-season.
