Sir Alex Ferguson Congratulates Javier Hernandez on Emotional Return to Chivas
Sir Alex Ferguson, the legendary former manager of Manchester United, has sent his congratulations to Javier Hernandez as he prepares for an emotional return to his boyhood club, Chivas.
The 35-year-old striker has spent the last three years playing in the MLS with LA Galaxy, but now he is returning to his homeland to finish his career with the team that launched his professional career.
After recovering from a serious knee injury sustained in June, Hernandez will have one last opportunity to play in Mexico before retiring.
A Cult Hero at Old Trafford
Javier Hernandez joined Manchester United as a relatively unknown player following the 2010 World Cup. However, he quickly became a cult hero at Old Trafford, playing a crucial role in two Premier League title-winning campaigns.
Known by the nickname ‘Little Pea’, Hernandez was considered one of the best bargain signings of Ferguson’s tenure at United. The former manager is thrilled to see Hernandez return to his old club and end his career on a high note.
In a heartfelt message, Ferguson said, “Chicharito, it’s your old boss here. First of all, I want to congratulate you on your return to your old club, back to Mexico where it all started. You were a great, fantastic player for us. Now, you have an opportunity at your old club to share your experience with the other players.”
After leaving Manchester United, Hernandez had successful spells at Bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid. However, his love for the club never wavered, and he considers himself a Red for life.
Hernandez expressed his gratitude to all the clubs he played for but emphasized his special connection to Manchester United. He proudly mentioned being the only Mexican player under Ferguson, scoring the last goal under him, and winning the Premier League twice.
As Hernandez embarks on this new chapter of his career, Ferguson wishes him and his family all the best and hopes to see more Mexican players in a United shirt in the future.
